I HAVE A CONCERN ABOUTH THE TRANSMISSON I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE SHOP AND THER E ARE ATLEAST 6 OTHERS WITH TRANSMISSON ISUSSES AND ONLY KELLY BLUE BOOK KIT STATES THAT THERE ARE 2 RECALL DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING.

The transmission. It is disengaging while driving down the road. It literally has basically stalled out in the middle of intersections, the highway, etc. There is a recall for this exact problem just not with my vin for some reason. I tried to get a dealership to look at it and see if they can fix it they say they will not. I am not safe nor are others with this malfunction.

My alternator died 4 weeks ago. My mechanic can't find one anywhere. He was told GM does not make them for this model yet. I only have 50,000 mi and bought this vehicle brand new. I'm extremely disappointed! My three Young kids and I ended up on the side of the road which was more than a little scary

Front passenger caliber lock up

Vehicle shut down and stopped suddenly while driving. Twice this happened. Both times were under 20 miles per hour. Once at a railroad crossing and the other was turning onto a major roadway. Dealership can not locate the problem.

The car is equipped with an automatic light feature designed to activate in low-light conditions, such as early mornings or evenings. However, the system only triggers when it is completely dark. Even in very low sunlight, the lights do not turn on, which can be dangerous as the car may not be fully visible on highways

Loud noise coming from under vehicle. Exhaust leak front flex pipe.

Weld on exhaust bracket broke.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, exhaust fumes entered the vehicle, causing her to have headaches. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the exhaust pipe had corroded and cracked, leaking fumes through the muffler and Y-pipe. The contact was informed that the Y-pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Multiple exhaust leaks repaired 5 times. 1. 32,095 miles 2. 38,674 miles 3. 43,388 miles 4. 58,480 miles

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Unknown if this vehicle qualifies for the retrofitting of rear and front parking sensors.

When driving transmission slips and goes into wat feels neutral....also when shift from park to any gear there is a click coming from front of vehicle

Second row seat belt is stuck in the seat adjustment lever arm. Causes passengers or children to ride home without seat belts. The belt locks up and can not be freed from the adjuster arm

Transmission and valve box stopped functioning in the middle of driving. As a result, the car was stuck in 1st gear.

the vehicle unexpectedly loses propulsion and or mechanical park, there is increased risk of crash or roll-away

Headlights , especially high beams are positioned too high. High beams literally illuminate treetops without placing even one lumen of light on the surface of the road. Dealer claims lights meet manufacturer specs and won’t/can’t adjust them.

After owning new vehicle for one month the check engine light comes on, return to dealer for service and we are told there is a known issue with 2023 Traverse showing check engine light off the lot. The vehicle is inspected and found that wires from the computer are rubbing/melting against a hot surface in the engine/transmission causing a faulty check engine light.

The transmission downshifts hard when in lower gears and sometimes when shifting to.higher gears.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving up a ramp at an undisclosed speed, the exhaust system detached after scraping the underside of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. A dealer was contacted, however the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

The internal structural frame or track assembly of the driver side passenger seat has suffered a mechanical failure, causing severe, high-frequency metal chattering while the vehicle is in motion. The failure persists even with a passenger buckled into the seat. Because the seat frame serves as the structural anchor for both the seatbelt restraint system and the side-impact airbags, an un-diagnosed internal fracture poses a direct risk to occupant safety in the even of a collision. Videos of the issue are available.

The infotainment center went black. No sound in vehicle, no back up camera, no radio

Due to excessive current requirements being placed on it the alternator has failed at less than 31,000 miles. Replacements are unavailable and are excessively inflated at the dealership if available.

My 2023 traverse rs experienced a loud grinding noise and sudden loss of power, almost like i slammed the brakes on while moving. I was in the middle of the road and i could have been rear ended. 10/12/26. This matches the GM recall N222389310 exactly but my vin is currently excluded. I am also experiencing a heavy vibration since 9/13/2026 similar to diving over rumble strips, it is intermittent and will not throw a code, its been to the GM dealership where new transmission fluid was put in, however started again, that did not solve the problem . GM does not have a recall for torque converter clutch they are aware and had put out a technical service bulletin TSB-23-NA-072.

Engine started consuming oil at around 25-30k miles. Now adding 3Q between the recommened oil change period. First realized this when driving on road trip and the engine oil low warning triggered. Driving at night on a interstate - had to pull off and find a safe place to check it. Could of been stranded with an engine failure in the middle of nowhere. Dealer confirms the issue, but GM says 1Q per 2000mi is "normal" in their world. Refuses to do anything when losing 1/2 your oil every oil change internal...

Transmission system / engine system

The vehicle jerks/shifts harshly while decelerating and again when accelerating after slowing down. The issue feels similar to the previous transmission shudder concern that was repaired.

Driving down the interstate the main screen went out completely, GPS, radio, controls to temperature for the back. Back up camera works and it shows a Chevy sign. GM dealer states the radio/Onstar module is out completely. This ironically happened immediately after warranty expired.

Transmission shifts to a low gear and will not upshift causing the vehicle to only go about 10 mph @4,ooo rpm. Dealer says it is a solenoid in the transmission that has failed. Part is on limited distribution because of significant instances of this occurance. This is a dangeruos situation that could cause great peril. My vehicle has only 22,000 miles. This is very premature for this new of a vehicle.

I have read several things about EBCM and the control power circuit being above threshold and wondering if this is a recall for this model? I am getting 3 error codes C0800, B1325, & U0151 for this vehicle. (General Motors is recalling over 449,000 SUVs and pickups (2023–2024 Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban/Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and select Silverado/Sierra 1500) due to a software fault in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) . This issue prevents the brake warning light from illuminating if brake fluid drops, increasing crash risk.) It's showing the same issues as above.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the engine Auto Start-Stop system engaged, and the ESC warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving the following day, the vehicle failed to exceed 60 MPH and gradually decelerated. The vehicle later failed to exceed 6 MPH and failed to respond upon shifting to reverse(R). The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where several diagnostic tests were performed, and the dealer determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V172000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to cover half the cost of the repair. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for further assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

Lately this car has been signalling , to brake sooner because a vehicle is near but there is no vehicle around. While driving today we pulled out of a parking lot and entered main road the car stopped and it felt like a vehicle slammed and hit the rear end. My husband is assuming transmission went out. Our traverse wouldnt accurate over 16 mph. (While driving) very dangerous!!!!

7-8 mild transmission slips/sticking 3 MAJOR transmission events where the car seized up completely and stopped running. Almost felt like a car crash. Very abrupt stop and almost caused people behind us to rear end us Car is only 21 months old / 17,000 miles. Most recent was in early August. We have not driven car since out of fear.

My car the steering gets hard to turn I have to turn car off and bk on also at light it lose power and roll and come back on sometimes things work and some times it don’t I have to shut off car and restart for things to work correctly and sometimes it work for a little bit while then start doing it again also feel funny when driving

After purchasing our vehicle we noticed back up camera view was switch to a globe view and noise in vehicle when driving over 40 mph that sound like electric wires shorting. Took to dealership they said they did updates to information center. After a few days it continued to do the same issues. Called dealership back and they took another look at it and said they once again pushed out a large update. Well vehicle continued to have same issues with addition of now rear view camera is going while in drive. Stereo screen gets all glitched up. Took it back and they kept it for a week and claimed they replaced stereo next day after picking it up it continues to have same issues and now my apple CarPlay doesn’t work. They claim I need WiFi to have it connected. Which is a lie it was working before they replaced stereo. I have contacted GM regarding all this. There is an open case. We have only had our traverse for 3 months. I have videos as well that my children have taken while reverse camera is going while I’m driving in drive.

While practicing parallel parking in the vehicle for about 1 hour, upon leaving the parking lot, there was a message that popped up on the dashboard reading, “SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST”. When driving the vehicle out the parking lot, the brakes were hard when pressing and the vehicle took a while to brake. I found myself braking at a far distance in order to stop the car at the nearest stop light. I turned my emergency lights and drove carefully home, since the engine light came on, which I parked and turned off the car. The next day, I turn on the vehicle and the engine light is still on, I take it to the local Auto Zone for a code, code P0556 is showing BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR. I then call the dealership, they tow the vehicle and upon arrival they run diagnostics and text me the following message: “ Buckalew Chevrolet: They looked into all of those. They'd have been induced by the parking brake situation, however eveything in the computers have moved to "history" standing which means the vehicle no longer deems it an issue. If a code is not active or current, there is not much I can do with it. It shows us what the computer saw as having an issue, but not what the issue is or how it occured. Without us being able to duplicate it or it actively giving a signal that we can measure, we are kind of stuck without a paddle.” They next say they don’t find anything and they cannot fix it, there I have to go pick up my vehicle. Therefore I do, but the following weekend I go practice parallel parking AGAIN, and the issue happens all over again with the EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST turning on by itself, I continue to have braking problems. “STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE” reads on the dashboard, I call the dealership, they say I have to bring the vehicle in when it’s actively having the issue, and I explain that once I turned off the car, the dashboard message disappeared. No response, no resolution. the dealership just brushed it off and said it was nothing.

The high-pressure fuel pump/fuel delivery system failed on my 2023 Chevrolet Traverse at approximately 47,480 miles. The vehicle generated diagnostic trouble code P0091. An authorized Chevrolet dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that the high-pressure fuel pump was “internally faulty” and required replacement. The vehicle and/or failed component may be available for inspection upon request, depending on whether the dealership retains the component after replacement. This failure presents a significant safety concern because the high-pressure fuel pump is responsible for maintaining proper fuel delivery to the engine. Failure of this system can result in hesitation, reduced engine performance, loss of power, stalling, or failure to start. A sudden loss of engine power while traveling at highway speeds, entering an intersection, or merging into traffic could increase the risk of a crash and endanger vehicle occupants and other motorists. The malfunction was confirmed by an authorized Chevrolet dealership through diagnostic testing. The dealership identified code P0091 and specifically documented the high-pressure fuel pump as internally faulty. To my knowledge, the vehicle has not been separately inspected by General Motors, law enforcement, an insurance company, or another independent investigator. Warning lights appeared intermittently prior to the diagnosis. The lights would illuminate and later turn off, despite the underlying malfunction still being present. I am concerned that a critical fuel-system component experienced an internal failure at only approximately 47,480 miles. I am requesting that NHTSA document and evaluate this failure to determine whether similar high-pressure fuel pump failures are occurring in other 2023 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles and whether this condition represents a potential vehicle safety defect.

2023 Chevy Traverse LT with 33, 884 miles on it. ABS, TC, Service ESC, Service 4WD, Reduced Steering Assist. OBD2 Codes: C0040, U0414, U0121 populated. There is a short in the Electronic Brake Control Monitor, a part that should last way more than 3 years and 33k miles. $1300 to remove and replace EBCM.

I own a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse RS, VIN [XXX]. This vehicle has repeated safety-related failures involving the engine/cooling system, fuel-injector/misfire system, steering-assist warning system, and electronic parking brake system. The vehicle is currently at AutoNation Chevrolet West Austin, dropped off on XXX, and is available for inspection. Soon after delivery, the vehicle began losing coolant and overheating. This was not isolated. Before the engine was finally replaced, there were at least four documented coolant/overheating-related dealer visits or repair notes: XXX. The problem repeated again on XXX, becoming the fifth coolant/overheating-related visit and resulting in GM/dealer-authorized engine replacement after internal coolant-related findings. Dealer records show low/empty coolant reservoir, overheating, fan-running symptoms, almost one gallon of coolant added, no external leak found, coolant dye added, GM TAC involvement, and internal coolant findings. After engine replacement, the vehicle continued to fail. In February 2026, it displayed check-engine light and “Steering Assist Reduced / Power Steering Reduced.” The dealer confirmed misfire and replaced cylinder 1 fuel injector. In April/May 2026, the vehicle displayed a service parking brake warning; the dealer documented left rear parking brake actuator high current. Now, on XXX, the vehicle is again at the dealer for blinking check-engine light, and the dealer advised the code shows another engine misfire. My family’s safety is at risk. Repeated overheating, engine replacement, steering-assist warning, parking brake warning, and recurring misfire create unsafe drivability risk, especially on highways, merging, intersections, or long trips. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

To make a very long story short, I was having major software issues with my vehicle. I had the car "blackout" lights screens and everything turn off then when it powered on i would have service lights on for my brakes. I also had my reverse camera go out a few times and my lane assistant light on dash say its not working. All to find out i had a faulty rear control module. Upon replacement i learned this EXACT rear control module is the same one used in other GM vehicles noted in several recalls but the part itself has never been directly recalled. So now I have the same exact part in my vehicle again which is bound to fail again at some point. My vehicle is only 3 years old and has done this with children in the car. I let GM know numerous times and they said since the part is replaced its fine. But I know this exact part is not safe. If you look up the model number on the rear control module you will see how many times it is noted in service bulletins and is main contributor to these issues. Please recall the 2023 chevy traverse. I dont want this part just "updated" it needs redesigned.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate the vehicle experienced severe engine shuttering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehcle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the falure but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 125,000.

Car started making a load vibrational noise on the highway. When we got to the next stopping point, the right front brakes were extremely hot and smelly. When the brakes were taken apart to inspect/replace parts, it was identified that the seals that protect the pistons had shrunk and were no longer attached to the caliper/piston. Corrosion was evident because of this causing a sticky caliper. Contacted chevy dealer who said the calipers were back ordered. That's an indication that this problem is real and has caused a shortage of replacement parts. Wait time for replacement caliper was said to be 7-10 days. The only parts that seemed to be available to get the car usable in a short period of time were aftermarket and that was even strained. Picture submitted shows. Seals were not pulled out, they were that loose to fall out.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unintendedly shut off, the instrument panel went black, and the vehicle lost motive power, and the vehicle lost power steering and power brakes functionality. The vehicle was shifted to neutral(N) and restarted, and regained power, and the vehicle returned to normal functionality. The failure also occurred while depressing the brake pedal. There were no warning lights illuminated. The failure had become more frequent and occurred approximately 3 - 4 times a day. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Vehicle: 2023 Chevrolet Traverse The vehicle has a recurring safety-critical defect. The steering assist becomes reduced while driving and the dashboard displays the warning message “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care.” At the same time, multiple safety systems such as collision-avoidance functions become disabled. This failure is persistent and creates unsafe driving conditions. The vehicle has previously experienced electrical and fuel-system related issues, including fault codes such as P2635, P0E32 and P0E37. There have been multiple warranty repair attempts, but the defect continues. The warning remains active while driving and the vehicle may lose steering assist, causing unpredictable steering effort. This presents a serious safety concern for the driver and public. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist and active safety systems. While driving, the vehicle repeatedly displays the warning “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care,” and multiple safety systems become disabled, including collision-avoidance functions. The steering effort changes and the vehicle becomes unpredictable. This is a recurring safety-critical defect. The vehicle has also experienced electrical and fuel-system related faults, including codes P2635, P0E32 and P0E37. Warranty repairs have been attempted several times, but the defect continues to occur. This failure places the driver and others at risk because steering assist may be reduced while the vehicle is moving, and safety systems deactivate unexpectedly. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty and remains available for inspection. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist, electrical stability, and active safety systems.

The second major safety issue with this vehicle occurred on 5/15/2025 when we lost control of the vehicle while traveling on the highway. During this time, the windshield wipers went halfway up and stayed up. The radio randomly turned on and off. The horn randomly honked. The air didn’t work. There was no ability to turn on hazard lights to warn other drivers. We had no ability to brake as the brakes felt hard and didn’t slow the vehicle. Steering was nearly impossible as the wheel felt locked in place and barely moved to either side. At the time we got several warning lights including theft protection and brake service. The vehicle had 27,965 miles on it at the time.

The contact's husband leases a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that after the vehicle had been parked for approximately 10 minutes, the contact who was occupying the front passenger's side seat turned off the vehicle while the driver's seat was unoccupied. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards and crashed into a tree that was 100 ft. away. The contact husband, who attempted to stop the vehicle from outside, sustained a partial tear of his hamstring and calf muscle on the right leg and received assistance from an Orthopedic. The contact sustained a contusion on the left hand but did not seek medical assistance. The contact and her husband were able to drive away from the scene and pulled into a parking lot, where the failure was reproduced. The vehicle was then driven to the residence and parked in the garage. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field investigator, who inspected the vehicle but failed to inspect the transmission. The manufacturer later informed the contact that no assistance would be provided. The contact was not provided information on the field inspector assessment. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V172000(Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. I was trying to park on a little steep driveway. Somehow I got out of the car when it is D gear. In seconds I realized the car is moving forward and jumped right back in the car, hit the brakes and switch D to P. The car didn't stopped. I remember buckled up sign on display and I did. Then I pushed the start button tried to stop and start it again, the car didn't stopped. The car continued to move down from driveway to backyard down the slope hitting and badly damaging a tramboline and a chair on its way and only stopped after hitting a tree. Then the engine worked when I pushed start button.I was able to reverse back to driveway again. I was lucky the kids were at school and there was a tree stopping the car to fall the little creek at the end of property line. Did I forget the car in auto shut off or simply shut the engine while it is on D? I am not sure exactly when I was able to switch gear P, it was before or after the buckle up sign. I don't remember any other warnings like "switch D to P to Park" before I left the car.(Normally it says) This acccident happened the day after we took it to service for 10k milage maintenance , oil change ,tire rotation, 27. Inspection. I am suspecting a main system malfunction because, after it came back from the 10k maintenance service, it was giving a strange alarm sound at random times when driver door opens. Alarm was louder and faster then normal warnings like remote left in the car etc. and there wasn't any warning on the display, indicating what it was about. I am suspecting power terrain and brake failure too. I don't know if my car does have an auto brake to stop itself and avoid sliding down a slope when driver is out of the car. I don't know if my car has a sensor showing if the driver is seated or not. Overall I experienced a dangerous situation and my attempts to stop it was unsuccessful.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving up the driveway, the 4WD and all-wheel drive became inoperable. The passenger's side front tire was spinning and making an abnormal sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. I own a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving, the vehicle suddenly began jerking very hard during acceleration and shifting. The Check Engine Light illuminated, and the vehicle became unsafe to drive because the transmission was not operating normally. I was concerned that the vehicle could suddenly lose power or fail while driving in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash. I took the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis. The dealer found the transmission fluid was burned and diagnosed transmission trouble codes P0797 and P0700, indicating an internal transmission problem. Transmission .PDF Before the failure, I experienced harsh shifting and jerking that became progressively worse until the warning light came on. The problem has been confirmed by a Chevrolet dealership. The failed transmission is available for inspection upon request. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this transmission failed prematurely at approximately 68,933 miles. I am concerned that other owners may experience the same failure, creating a serious safety risk if the transmission loses power or fails while the vehicle is in motion.

Infotainment system broke, black screen, no ability to use back up or other cameras, or see navigation etc.

We experienced power steering failure. Our steering wheel control was taken over while backing out of our driveway and while driving on a highway. When this happens, you can’t turn the wheel. It becomes locked and then you become stuck. It is extremely unsafe and put our whole family at risk of getting in an accident. It is currently sitting at the dealership and has been there for weeks. We have documents confirming the problem. The dealer even had a problem pulling it into the garage for the diagnostics. We have been out of a car for weeks because the steering rack part is impossible to get and is in very high demand which leads us to believe we are not the only ones experiencing this. Again I stress, this was very scary for our family and it really puts people at risk. It is a new car and we should not have experienced this.

It started when I put my car in reverse and it would delay and jerk back before reversing off and on. About a month later, I started my car in the street and accelerated and it jerked and shut off in the middle of a street. I restarted it and accelerated it again and it jerked and shut off again. It's a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse with 61,570 miles. I towed it back to dealer and they are stating it's an issue with the transmission and want to charge $9800. I can send the email Chevy sent for the repair estimate. My safety was put at risk by completely stopping in the middle of the street where I could have gotten crashed into. The problem was confirmed by the chevy dealer where I bought the vehicle. The vehicle was seen by transmission specialist at Chevy dealer. No warning messages at all. Chevy app kept saying everything looks good with vehicle.

When driving early in the morning to drop off my kids to school, we are driving on a highway, crossing a bridge, no cars on either side, no houses either, when all of a sudden the rear left window has a loud POP, and then shatters completely. This was an exploding window out of no where, with nobody around and no other cars near by to cause this accident. The glass fell all over my body and I could not move until the vehicle was safely pulled over. This was concerning because my 1 year old was sitting next to me and the glass could have fell onto them if they were sitting right next to the window just like I was, and that was a safety concern. I called the dealership to let them know what happened right before my eyes and they said there was nothing they could do for an explosive window. I asked if there was issues with this happening to other people with an 2023 Chevrolet traverse, and provided my vin, they said no recalls so again, nothing they could do. I mention maybe a default in defroster or manufacturing issue of installation problem, and they just said NO over the phone. They did mention they had another lady who came in with the same problem, a window shattering for no reason while driving, but that “things like that happen normally”. Despite having other people with the similar issue, I was given the cold shoulder with No resolution.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the hazard warning light button was pressed. The contact stated that when the hazard warning light button was pressed again to turn off the hazard lights, the button became inoperable, and the hazard lights remained activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the hazard light button needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The contact stated that while driving over 4 MPH, the vehicle seized with the transmission warning light illuminated. The contact was concerned about being involved in a crash due to the failure. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 88,071.

I am filing this complaint due to a recurring exhaust leak in the front exhaust pipe of my 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, which poses a potential safety hazard. During the vehicle’s bumper-to-bumper warranty period, Freedom Chevrolet in San Antonio replaced a leaking front exhaust pipe (receipt attached), a known issue covered by a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for earlier model years (2018–2022) but not for the 2023 Traverse. Less than two years later, with the vehicle now at approximately 84,000 miles, the front exhaust pipe has failed again, exhibiting the same leak issue. This recurring defect is concerning because exhaust leaks can allow carbon monoxide and other harmful gases to enter the vehicle cabin, posing a risk of poisoning or impaired driver awareness, especially during extended operation. Additionally, the issue may contribute to environmental hazards due to improper emissions control. Despite my requests for assistance from Freedom Chevrolet and GM Customer Care, I have not received a satisfactory resolution, and the repair cost falls on me as the vehicle is out of warranty. I am aware of complaints and TSBs documenting similar exhaust leak issues in Chevrolet Traverse models from 2018–2022, including a recall for the 2019 model year (NHTSA ID: N222385510), suggesting a systemic issue that may extend to the 2023 model. The lack of a TSB or recall for the 2023 Traverse leaves owners like myself vulnerable to repeated failures and safety risks.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that there was a loud banging sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the same loud sound was heard while driving forward. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was duplicated; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V172000 (Power Train) and linked the failure to the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 13,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the engine was idling extremely loudly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

I was told from Dan Cummins where I bought my vehicle that there was a recall on my vehicle for the exhaust pipe, when I tried to get it fixed I was told there wasn’t. When I searched up the recall it says “yes there is a recall on 2023 Chevy traverse for the exhaust pipe” and where the parts are saying it’s recalled “ exhaust front intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter to front exhaust pipe gasket” is exactly where my hole is in my exhaust pipe. It started as a leak but has grown into a hole due to not being fixed. I tried adding photos of it and where it says there is a recall that “ Dealers will replace the front exhaust pipe on the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse at no cost to the customer” but I don’t know if they uploaded.

Noticeable Hard shifting, Transmission concerns vehicle woul d not move during acceleration when pulling into driveway. V ehicle placed in park and back to drive vehicle would not mo ve. The exhaust pipe, gaskets and muffler. Yes, at times we do smell the exhaust inside the vehicle and a loud sound coming from the engine when the vehicle is in motion and on standby. Yes they were notified and are still waiting for parts to have it repaired. They advised to continue driving my car and refused to provide a rental to use during the downtime due to my ‘issue’ not covered by my warranty or extended warranty because my vehicle is over 36k miles. No warnings were on in the vehicle to notify me, I just noticed a weird sound as my car would start up when the vehicle is started and never stopped.

I have requested since April to have the recall fixed on my vehicle with no repairs to date. I have just been told the part is on back order but will let me know when it is available. It’s currently going on a year with no resolution for the known recall.

-The Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) inside the automatic transmission is malfunctioning. It is experiencing a known defect outlined in GM Service Bulletin 23-NA-072. The vehicle is still being driven and is available for inspection upon request. -The transmission violently shudders and vibrates under light acceleration at low speeds (such as pulling out into traffic, merging, or navigating intersections). This violent, unexpected shaking creates a distraction, mimics the feeling of a blown tire or driving over a rumble strip, and causes hesitation in acceleration, which creates a safety hazard when merging with oncoming traffic. -The problem has been consistently reproduced by the owner. It matches the exact diagnostic criteria of GM’s active Technical Service Bulletin for TCC shudder. -No, it has not been inspected. - No check engine lights, warning lamps, or dashboard messages have appeared. The physical symptom is a severe mechanical shudder/vibration at low acceleration speeds, which first began appearing at approximately 75,000-80,000 -

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from underneath the vehicle while depressing the accelerator pedal to accelerate. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a hole in the exhaust system causing the acceleration failure. The vehicle was repaired out of pocket. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the waiting period suggested. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

My dashboard gave an alert “battery saver active” then another alert stating to “service charging system, vehicle may stall”. Then the alerts cleared. After a few minutes both alerts were on my dashboard again. I was able to pull into an [XXX] ’s and had them check the battery, which was replaced a few months ago, employee stated that the battery was so low, only showing 11.4 that they couldn’t even test it, that she testing the alternator and the computer said it needed to be replaced. The employee stated that most GM replacement alternators for Chevy traverse 2023 are on back order due to so many having to be replaced right at the 3 year mark. We could only get a store brand replacement part due to the back order. Once I bought the part, my husband drove behind me for the 30 minute drive home, we had to pull over twice to jump off the battery and charge it due to the vehicle stalling. Once home we replaced the part and seems to work fine, it has only been 9 days. I have the original part for inspection and receipts of purchase for the new part. When I took my car out my garage one afternoon, I heard a loud noise that my car was making from the outside of the vehicle. The sound was super loud and made my vehicle sound like a race car reving up, every time I pressed on the gas and then when I pressed on the brakes, it made a screeching/ rattling noise. Come to find out when looking underneath the exhaust pipe underneath the car is hanging off, looks like the mounting bracket separated. Then there was a big visible hole as well. I decide to take it to a mechanic shop and fix this myself and yet the dealership also says there is no recall for that issue. Another additional issue was I was having on this same vehicle was a weird smell coming from my A/C vents when I first turned on the vehicle to which it then dissipates . Informed the dealership and they said again, they don’t know why the car is smelling like humidity. They said they would call me back so they can take the car in, and this was over a month ago, never heard back either.

The first major safety issue occurred on 4/2/2025 when we had brake malfunction. Brakes did not work properly creating a very dangerous situation when the vehicle wouldn’t stop when applying pressure on the brakes. The brakes made a strange noise, felt hard, and didn’t slow the vehicle as they typically do. At the time we received a service brake sensor notification. Car was “repaired” at the Elco dealership where the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle had 25,597 miles on it.

The contact's wife owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the right turn signal light illuminated and blinked intermittently. The contact's wife noticed that the rear passenger’s side brake light and signal light failed to work as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake light had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and made an abnormal sound. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on 4 separate occasions. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

On April 17, 2023 I was on my way home from work and got a message " Battery Saver Mode Activated." I checked the voltage and it was at 11.4. By the time I got home, the voltage had gone down to 10.3. I took the vehicle to the dealership on April 19, 2022 for repair. It was a bad alternator. On June 29, 2023, my family and I were on vacation and at a hotel in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I got up the next morning, 0330, and started the car and I got a message, " Battery Saver Mode Activated." I checked the voltage. It was at 11.3. I had to drive to the nearest truck stop so we would not be stranded on the side of a dark highway. The battery light came on and a message came up something like, "Charging system low. Vehicle could stall anytime." The battery light remained on. We made it to the truck stop, voltage was at 10.1, and I had to call a tow service to take my vehicle and my family to the nearest dealership in Stuttgart, Arkansas. It was another bad alternator and was repaired again and returned to me on August 4, 2023. Both instances, I was on busy highways with no gas stations for miles and not very good cell service. I live in Texas and the weather was hot and I had my son, my granddaughter, and 3 dogs with me. I couldn't get the windows down because the battery was dead. I contacted the manufacture. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and has not been inspected by the manufacture as of yet.
